Introduction
In the state of Vermont, PowerSchool has specific requirements that must be met in order for the school FTE’s (both full and/or part time) to properly align to the Full/Part Time Status in Vermont’s state reporting. The following steps can be used to ensure that students using a full-time FTE are reporting with a full-time status to the state, and similarly, students using a part-time FTE are reporting with a part-time status to the state.
Step 1
Navigate to the FTE school setup screen.

Step 2
Click on New to add an FTE, or click on the FTE Name to edit.

Step 3
Note the following guidelines from the PowerSchool VT Compliance Document:
Note: Pay close attention to the naming convention guidelines. We have had the best results from placing the word ‘Full’ at the end of the FTE name for equivalencies that are meant to be of full-time status. Without ‘Full’ or ‘FT’ in a title, the Full-Time Equivalency may default to part-time as the student(s) Full/Part Time Status.

Step 4
Confirm the student(s) is assigned the desired FTE in the Transfer Info Screen under Current Enrollments.

Step 5
After submitting the FTE, confirm the student(s) status is aligned properly by validating in the State/Province – VT screen under the AOE ADM Data Tab.

Note: Full/Part Time Status cannot be edited within the AOE ADM Data tab, this is why it is of the upmost importance to ensure FTE’s are properly programmed within the corresponding areas within PowerSchool. We recommend adjusting these settings if you are noticing a misalignment between your FTE and the Full/Part Time Status reported to the state.
